    The Sea Horse: Welcome Home

Henry walked up as Aaron was showing the Judge workings of the Sea Cove. “We’ve been friends for twenty years plus, and you thought you’d just go out on your own.” The Judge looked at the display, “I thought it was best, you were there that night.” “Yes I was, and I was there the night after the fire, and every night of the recovery.” Aaron climbed into the Sea Swallow, “Headed out for patrol.” The two men watched as he headed out. That’s when they heard the anger behind them. “He’s faced chain wielding thugs, machine guns, even the one woman with the harpoon. He’s never backed out of…

    Think Thankful

The following article is taken from a lesson that I was blessed to share at our Church, Point Of Mercy, in Nashville, TN.  The Senior Pastor, Pastor Denny Livingston ask me to speak, and it was my honor to do so. Colossians 3:15 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. The first time we find any form of the word Thank in the Bible is in the word Thanksgiving in Leviticus Chapter 7. It is a form of Peace Offering, referred to in this chapter, as the Sacrifice Of Thanksgiving. You don’t…

    The Day Before

Today is officially the day before Thanksgiving, but don’t wait 24 hours to show someone how important they are to you. There is a person, or persons, in your life that have literally rescued you from countless things. From irrelevance to inconceivable sorrow, you and I are better because of someone else. Today, in the midst of broken egg shells, peeling potatoes, and unthawing turkeys, take some time. In all this preparation, take five minutes to call up the loved one you’ll see tomorrow, tell them you love them. Yes it may sound sappy, or it may make their day easier. Everyday someone is hurting, scared, or lonely, but…

    Reaching Captain Kirk

If James Tiberius Kirk and Jean Luc Picard walked into your life, and you were given the mission of witnessing to them, how would you do it? I know it sounds like a strange question, but go with me for a moment. How would you do it? If you were a fan of this show, you would realize that Kirk was bold, brave, and sometimes brash. He was however a reasonable man. Also, you should know that a young Kirk would respond differently than an older one would. The man we meet in Generations is not the same man who started his five year mission years ago. His life experience…

The Sea Horse: Losing His Grip

Eric Carlysle answered the door. He cringed everytime he had in the last three days. It wasn’t because of the fear someone would try and kill him. He had gotten used to that, but ever since the bank surveillance footage was released on the news, he was nervous. Someone else would eventually show up at his door, the young man that he had saved years ago. He knew that he wouldn’t recognize him, the doctors had given him a new face. Henry would have seen to that, Henry and Carla would take care of him. what he dreaded was the questions, those answers that he had, now didn’t seem good…

    Our Greatest Heritage

2 Kings 4:1-7  1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. 2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.…

    The Greater Purpose Of Talent

Talent, it’s s volatile word. It’s been used to describe a singer, an author, or a politician. It can either be a very shallow thing, or a very spiritual one. Once we discover a talent, it’s our responsibility to seek out the greater purpose of talent. For example, writing, why do I write? First, I enjoy it. At first glance this may seem selfish, but it’s not, instead it reflects God’s brilliance. Why does a child do anything at first? Because they enjoy it. How better for one to discover the talents that He has placed inside them? Like a present on Christmas Day, God allows us to unwrap our…
