The Tribe Of Joseph
Two sons were born to Rachel, one in joy, and the other in sorrow. Joseph had both Mother and Dad. His brother Benjamin did not. When giving birth to her second son, Rachel died in childbirth. I wonder if that went through Joseph’s mind when his wife announced the pregnancy of their second son? When we knew that Nicholas was coming, as the son of someone who experienced three miscarriages, had Nicholas’ Birth Mother passed, we didn’t know how the adoption would have been affected. I battled my fear with faith, until he was born. His Mother’s death had to be in Joseph’s mind until he heard his second boy…

I Choose Love
Racism is a mask that hatred hides behind. No matter how you try to dress it up, it’s still the putrid, ugly, opposite of what is Godly and Holy. It must be boldly and loudly stated, there is no room for hatred in the Family Of God! I’m careful not to write about things beyond my understanding, but in this case, I feel compelled to. You see, I intend to raise our son, to see everyone as equal under God’s Heaven. I don’t understand how someone could hate period, much less on the color of someone’s skin. To me, that’s like hating someone for the color of their hair. All…

Thank You To The Fighting Brave
When I think of Memorial Day, I think of a farmer with a musket, who became a soldier to become not a colonist, but an American. I think of a conflict in 1812. In my mind I see the soldiers of the Civil War, and Colonel Roosevelt’s RoughRiders at San Juan Hill. I think of American dough boys as they were called in the forests of France in World War 1. I think of American GI’s who rolled into concentration camps to liberate thousands of Jews, preventing the Nazi goal of the holocaust. I think of those who served in Korea, Vietnam, and so many challenges our fighting brave have…

Today We Gather
Today, at Point Of Mercy, we gather to worship. We have glorified God in our homes while we waited for this day. We have felt His Presence through this time, and can’t wait to experience worship again together. Yes, precautions are taken. Yes we now have multiple services to accommodate the size recommendations during this challenging time. Yet, these challenges do not limit or concern a God Who steered His Church through the adversity of Roman persecution, the Middle Ages, bubonic plague, and two world wars. Jesus made a declaration, “The Gates Of Hell shall not stand against it”. To Him it wasn’t bold, because God knew He had the…

Mothers Day 2020
Today is Mother’s Day. I’ve been blessed to see so many wonderful mothers in my life. First my Mother Phyllis Pruitt, who loved, taught, and invested in me, and continues to everyday. I guess that’s why we give flowers on Mother’s Day, to show them the seeds they planted in us, through love, patience, hard work, and prayers produced the good in our lives. I Love You Mom more than you could imagine! Other women who’ve poured into my life, from my Grandmothers, Virginia Ruth Hill and Marie Ball Pruitt. Each so special in their own unique way. I remember prayers, laughter, strength, and adventures. My favorite Aunt, Jean Taylor,…
