Treasures In Heaven
Matthew 6:19-20 (KJV) 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: A person was asked, “What would you want people to say about you in a hundred years?” My comical reaction was, “Something”, but actually then I thought of twelve men in the first century. None of them did one thing to ensure their name survived. The apostles did not build one monument to themselves. They didn’t leave behind a fortune,…

We Are All Underpaintings
This doesn’t look like much right now. It’s not supposed to, it’s in the underpainting stage. The underpainting stage is when you began adding the beginning layers of a painting, that will help to shape the outer image. It reminds me of our lives really. No, we don’t look like garbled messes, on the outside, lol. Out of the womb, we are beautiful on the outside, because God is a Master artist. On the inside though, because of both maturity, and the fall of man, we are not complete. Over time, as we grow and are taught, layers are added. The problem isn’t telling a child they don’t yet know…

The Tribe Of Benjamin
He was the only one of Jacob’s sons not to know his Mother. He was the only one to grow up not knowing Jacob before widowhood. Those two things may seem elementary, but they defined, at least the early life of Benjamin. His brother Joseph, for a short time, got to know his Mother. As a Momma’s boy, I can’t imagine how Benjamin felt. How his Mother’s life affected him, though he never remembered hearing her voice. I believe he never heard her name spoken by his Dad, without hearing the sorrow associated with her loss. That had to affect every second of his life, every moment of his future.…

Watercolor Eric Rhoads
I’ve enjoyed his podcasts for a long time. I’ve also enjoyed his broadcasts during the pandemic. While my little portrait of Eric Rhoads can’t compare to all the wonderful painters who have captured him, I did enjoy doing a small watercolor of Mr. Plein Air.

Walt Disney Jim Henson
As a kid, when it came to entertainment, there were different layers, but at the top were two men, Walt Disney and Jim Henson. I can’t think of many that I put in the same category as those two men. Chalk it up to what you will, but those two men did something that, to me at least, was rarely duplicated. They didn’t just imagine worlds. They imagined places loved by millions of children. Generations of children. I didn’t understand a lot, but I trusted Uncle Walt, and Jim. I don’t know when I realized Walt had passed, but I remember watching the videos of him talking directly to everyone…

That, That Is Art
Psalms 111:4-5 (KJV) 4 He hath made His wonderful works to be remembered: The LORD is gracious and full of compassion. 5 He hath given meat unto them that fear Him: He will ever be mindful of His covenant. Psalms 113:5-6 (KJV) 5 Who is like unto the LORD our God, Who dwelleth on high, 6 Who humbleth Himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! I love art, I love artists, I don’t love the egotism associated with art. That’s simply because I don’t care for arrogance. I’ve been guilty of it myself, but I’m working on that. The reason I love art, is…
