Still True

Isaiah 53:9 (ESV)
9 And they made His grave with the wicked and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, and there was no deceit in His mouth.
Isaiah 53:10 (ESV)
10 Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush Him;
He has put him to grief; when His soul makes an offering for guilt, He shall see His offspring; He shall prolong His days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
As Christ’s body lay in the grave, the Disciples must have been battling with confusion, grief, and fear. Yet, while they did not understand, God knew something, it was still true. Years before Jerusalem, or Bethlehem, a prophet wrote.
Isaiah fifty three pens an emotional, and beautiful image of Christ’s sacrifice long before He walked in flesh. We quote the ninth verse a lot as we should, but we must not miss it leads us to verse ten. It promises that when the sacrifice is completed, The Lamb led to slaughter would prolong His days, and see His offspring.
Even as Simon wept, John held Mary as she cried, and Andrew tried to make sense of it all, it was still true. It wasn’t just then by the way. Today, people have multiple opinions about religion, life itself, and what is right and wrong, but the fact remains, it’s still true.
There was a birth, death, a burial, and resurrection. Jesus did fulfill every prophecy written about Him thousands of years before. He did what they said He would do, and He will do what He said He would do. He will redeem all those who come to Him according to His Word.
I hope you know Him, but if you don’t I would encourage you to read what she said. It is still true that a final judgement will happen, and those washed in the blood of The Lamb will be rescued. I’ve seen enough to know, it’s still true.
