Books & Art

Two ways I tell stories.Words on a page. Paint on a brush.

I've written and published more than 70 books — mysteries, fiction, faith, biblical studies, stories, and art. And I paint: acrylics, watercolor, sketches, and digital art. Both come from the same place — something worth saying, behind everything I make.

PruittWrites Art

Art is another way I tell stories.

My artwork includes acrylics, watercolors, sketches, and digital art, with subjects ranging from faith and biblical themes to history, culture, animals, landscapes, and still lifes. I enjoy painting subjects that interest me — a historical or cultural figure, an animal with personality, a familiar scene, or an idea that simply makes me want to pick up a brush or pencil.

Some pieces are serious, some are playful, and some are connected to the stories and ideas that have influenced my writing. I especially enjoy watercolor, but I like working in different mediums because each one gives me another way to approach a subject. Just as with my writing, I want the artwork to have something behind it: a story, an idea, a feeling — or simply something interesting to see.
